Tagging of customers and using unique client identifiers

In this article, we'll explore a powerful duo in our system - Tags and Unique Client Reference ID. While they might seem like technical jargon, they are your keys to streamlining your experience and maximizing the benefits of Themis Search. We'll show you how these tools can simplify your processes and boost efficiency.

Firstly, lets cover the difference between tags and unique identifiers:

  1. Tags are custom fields that you can use to distinguish groups of customers. For example, if you have a group of customers you are verifying via Themis Search who are investing in a particular fund (e.g 'Fund 1'), you may opt to tag them with the name of 'Fund 1'. You can reuse this tag for multiple different customers.
  2. Unique Client Reference IDs are recommended to be used to align Themis Search with your internal systems. For example, if your internal customer management software produces a unique number identifier (e.g. '0001'), you can add this in to the customer profile and search by this in future.

To add a tag/Unique Client Reference ID to a new customer:

  1. When you are adding a new customer profile to 'Screen' or 'Monitor', click the 'Add client' button.
  2. Input the individual/business name as the minimum information you need to add.
  3. Under 'Unique Client Reference ID', copy + paste this from your internal system (to ensure accuracy and there are no typos!)
  4. Under 'Tags' start typing the name of your tag. If you (or others in your team) have previously used this tag, it will show up for you to reuse. If not, click 'Add item' once you have finished writing the tag. If you make a mistake, don't worry as the tag will delete if there is no customer profiles associated to it.

Now you have added your Tags/Unique Client Reference ID's, you can now filter by these! Check out our article on using Advanced Search for more info!
