Once a customer has been moved into Monitoring, if they have any financial crime matches, it will create an alert. This is to help ensure that any entities that pose a risk to your organisation are captured and acknowledged. You will also be reminded of any open alerts in your daily monitoring email reminders. It is best practice to clear these out so that if any of your customers status changes, you are alerted accurately.
To do this, follow the below steps:
- Go to the 'Monitor' tab of Themis Search.
- At the top of the screen, there will be 5 categories. These include the number of customers you have in 'Monitor' + all the financial crime checks conducted on them.
- The black number is the total number within the category.
- The red number is the amount of active alerts for that category.
- To clear the alerts by category, click on the red number to bring up the list of customers with open alerts.
- Click on the first customer in the list, this will open their profile to the right of the screen.
- To review what matches are open, click on the tabs with yellow dots (this indicates a match within that category).
- Once reviewed, if you are happy to continue working with the customer, click back on the person icon tab (first tab) & click on the open alert button.
- You can type a reason for closing the alert for auditing purposes & click 'Close Alert'. This will remove the open alert and they will only appear back in the list if a new financial crime match appears.
