The human trafficking aspect of the Ukraine crisis is becoming more apparent. The rapid displacement of over 2.5 million people, including a million children, has created a "recipe for disaster" according to the Human Trafficking Foundation. The exodus, the fastest in Europe since WWII, involves mostly women, children, and the elderly, who are highly vulnerable to trafficking. Eastern Europe was already a high-risk area for human trafficking, especially for women. Read more here
