Blog: The EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive: A Turning Point for ESG?

In February 2022, the European Commission proposed the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), expected to become law by the end of the year. The CSDDD aims to promote responsible corporate behavior and standardize due diligence across the EU. It targets large EU companies, certain high-impact sector companies, and non-EU companies operating in the EU, requiring them to integrate due diligence into their policies, identify and mitigate adverse impacts, and publicly report on their efforts.
